The Victoria Police Department proudly serves the communities of Victoria and Esquimalt. The City of Victoria is the capital of British Columbia and is a world-renowned tourism destination. Our vibrant and historical downtown core is also the business and entertainment centre for Vancouver Island. Our citizens enjoy the mildest climate in Canada and reside in many beautiful heritage neighbourhoods.

The Township of Esquimalt is a colourful and progressive community. It is the Pacific coast home of Canada's Navy and is well known for its beautiful parks and seaside walkways.

In addition to being the oldest police department west of the Great Lakes, we possess a reputation as one of Canada's most innovative and modern police agencies. Our 222 police officers benefit from strong community support and involvement, and we recognize the crucial role our 107 civilian staff and over 70 volunteers play in helping us maintain public safety.
